Good evening everyone! It has been a busy day on this end helping out family. I have not had access to internet/weather data for most of the day. On my trip back to TSH (The Snowman Headquarters), not too surprisingly, I noticed that much of northern Carroll County has had their roads pretreated. In fact, I was behind one of the sprayer trucks ... it is fascinating to watch how they apply the treatment to the roadways. So, on to the weather. A winter storm system is still on track for much of northern and central MD for Monday afternoon --> Tuesday morning. This one will be a tricky one (aren't they all) to predict, but at the moment ... it appears sleet and freezing rain might be the biggest concern according to the NAM and GFS weather models. The EURO is leaning towards mostly snow. Here is what it is looking like in regards to potential possible accumulation: Northern MD: 2-4" ... a combination of all types of freezing precipitation leaning toward snow. Central MD: 1-2" ... a combination of all types of freezing precipitation leaning toward sleet/freezing rain. Whenever the infamous "freezing rain" is a possibility ... it is super important to take it seriously as the impacts to the roads and all surfaces can be significant and dangerous. Please use caution and stay safe. You know how this works ... lol 🤪 ... things can and mostly will change as we get closer ... so take all forecasts with a grain of salt. I will more than likely follow up tomorrow to fine tune/change some things as we get closer to the "event." I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.
