SNOW/ICE UPDATE ❄️: Good Sunday evening, everyone! Things are still on track for all types of winter precipitation across the state tomorrow afternoon --> Tuesday morning. Potential accumulation has been fine tuned a bit. What I am seeing is pretty much in line with the NWS (see graphic below). A widespread 1-4 inches of snow might not look like much or a big deal, but any of the infamous ice/freezing rain will be the big concern. Please keep this system on your radar, use caution and stay safe. The ground is already quite cold. This will set the stage nicely for any type of precipitation that falls to stick/freeze. Should you be out and about tomorrow, expect any untreated road surfaces to be very slick/impassable. When could it approximately begin tomorrow? By around 2:30 tomorrow afternoon, much of MD could see wintry precipitation of some type begin to fall. It should begin to ramp up as we approach the later afternoon/evening hours. By around 5:00PM (as the sun sets) freezing rain may become much more widespread. Mixed precipitation is expected to fall throughout the night and into the early morning hours of Tuesday. MORE WINTER WEATHER TO COME? ... I am also keeping eyes 👀 on another winter storm system tracking our way potentially on Thursday of this week. Let's focus on tomorrow's first and then we can address that one. One at a time. 😉 Stay tuned and #followthesnowman ⛄️ Space for this page provided by Maryland musician and artist, Matthew C. Shuman.
