The Music and Art of Matthew C. Shuman presents ...
Creating at the Speed of Life
A journey of Music and Art by: Matthew C. Shuman
Gave my hands a break over the weekend. Back to practicing some more today and discovering some new sounds with the Rav. Here's round 3. I simply cannot get enough of this instrument. I have spent close to 15 hours trying to create different sounds to the point my hands and fingers literally hurt. Here is the second improvisation. So here it is. A RavVast B Celtic Minor Hand Pan hand made in Russia. I spent much of this afternoon trying to figure it out. Here is my first attempt at creating some music with it. Hopefully the first of many. First photo of the year goes to my cat, Buddy. Experimented with some different lighting and editing tools to create this portrait. She thinks she looks good in any light, however. 😸
Just received word yesterday that my new instrument is completed and that it departed the Russian Federation the other day. I have been following its shipping progress as it makes its way to the United States and as of this evening it is in Leipzig, Germany. Very excited for it to arrive and to start experimenting with it. Stay tuned. 😀
I spent the afternoon tuning the ole baby grand. There is nothing quite like a freshly tuned piano. Something called to me to play this song. "Chapter 1: The Story of Life." We all have a story. Each and everyone is different. Well. Here it is ... my first official blog post since leaving the world of social media. I hope to make this a one stop shop. One place where you can visit to keep track of my "antics." Where you choose to go from here is up to you, but thank you for visiting. I relied heavily on posting much of my material on Facebook over the years so this will be very new/different for me. Bear with me as I adjust and as always, thank you for your support. For my first post, I would like to share with you my two year drawing journey. Thank you for being a part of it. |
